Cordlock Shade Will Not Raise Evenly: Instructions

If your shade does not lift evenly, it is likely an issue with the cords that can easily be fixed.

Step 1:
First, make sure that the cords are not wrapped around each other or tangled.

Check that the cords run freely through the cord lock and the pulleys.

Check that the cords run freely down the back of the shade and that the cord shroud is not interfering with the lift cord.

Step 2:
Then, make sure that the cords have not come loose from the breakaway tassel.

If the cords are not all connected in the breakaway tassel, string the cords that have come loose through the breakaway tassel and tie a knot at the end of the cord to hold it in place. Once all of the cords have been strung back through, close the breakaway tassel by clipping both sides together.
Step 3:
Raise and lower the shade several times by pulling the lift cords and engaging the cord lock at different levels. If one side of the shade is dropping lower than the other, then the shade needs a new cord lock.
