INSPIRED OUTDOOR SHADE INSTALLATION MANUAL 2025A
Thank you for purchasing Outdoor Shades from the Inspired Shades Collection.
With proper installation, your shades should look beautiful and provide years of service. Please check all parts and review this manual before starting installation.
TOOLS THAT MAY BE REQUIRED:
Pencil, Tape Measure, Drill, Screwdriver, Level, and Step Stool
NOTE: For drywall (wallboard) or plaster, use anchors designed for hollow walls (not included). For concrete, stone, and brick, use a masonry drill bit and masonry anchors (not included).
SHADE CARE AND CLEANING
Our outdoor shade fabrics are made from durable PVC/polyester materials designed to stand up to the elements.
If cleaning is required, wipe with a soft cloth or sponge and mild soap mixed with water. Rinse any soap residue thoroughly with clean water and allow the shade to air dry while it is fully lowered. Avoid abrasive brushes, bleach, or strong solvents. These aren’t necessary and could damage the finish.
Following these tips will help to extend the life of your shades and ensure that they stay beautiful for years to come!
WEATHER RESISTANCE
Both the shade fabric and components have been tested for wind resistance, ensuring your shade can withstand strong breeze conditions. Shades have a rating of 6 on the Beaufort Scale which means they can withstand a strong breeze of up to 25 MPH with hold downs properly installed. We recommend the shades be rolled up when wind speeds exceed 25 MPH.
Shade damage or failure resulting from inclement weather, including but not limited to excessive wind, storms, or other severe conditions is not covered by product warranty.
Deterioration caused by exposure to coastal salt air or other corrosive environmental factors is not covered under this warranty.

CASSETTE INSTALLATION (CLUTCH)
MOUNTING HARDWARE:
STEP 1: INSTALL BRACKETS
Brackets for clutch & chain outdoor shades with cassettes can be installed to the ceiling or underside of the window frame (top mount) or to the wall (face mount).
Determine the desired location for the brackets and mark their positions with a pencil. Install the end brackets 2”- 4” in from each end of the cassette, then space any additonal brackets evenly between them.
Note: Brackets must be installed level in order for the cassette to install properly.
STEP 2: INSTALL SHADE
Position the lip of the bracket under the front rib on the cassette.
Once in position, push the back of the shade up into the tab of the installation bracket. You will hear a click once the back of the cassette and tab of the bracket are engaged.
Once shade is installed, remove the protective plastic film from the face of the cassette.
If your shade requires removal after installation, use a flat head screwdriver to unhook the tab on the cassette installation bracket from the bottom of the cassette.
NOTE: CHAIN TENSIONER INSTALLATION Shades with clutch controls come with a continuous chain loop, which MUST be secured to the wall using the included chain tensioner. See separate instructions for Chain Tensioner Installation.

OPEN ROLL (CLUTCH)
STEP 1: INSTALL BRACKETS
Brackets for open roll clutch outdoor shades can be installed to the ceiling or underside of the window frame (top mount) or to the wall (face mount).
Determine the desired location for the brackets, then mark the position of the brackets ensuring they are the correct distance apart, level, and are in line with each other.
Note: Brackets must be installed level in order for the shade to install properly.
STEP 2: INSTALL SHADE
Insert the control side of the shade into the control end bracket, ensuring the lug on the bracket fits into the slot.
The idle end of the shade has a dial which can be turned to retract the idle end post. Once the post is retracted, the idle end can be aligned with the opening of the idle end bracket. Once in place, turn the dial to release the idle end post to hold the shade in place.
If your shade requires removal after installation, turn the dial on the idle end of the shade to release the shade from the brackets.
NOTE: CHAIN TENSIONER INSTALLATION Shades with clutch controls come with a continuous chain loop, which MUST be secured to the wall using the included chain tensioner. See separate instructions for Chain Tensioner Installation.

CASSETTE INSTALLATION (CRANK)
MOUNTING HARDWARE:
STEP 1: INSTALL BRACKETS
Brackets for crank outdoor shades with cassettes can be installed to the ceiling or underside of the window frame (top mount) or to the wall (face mount).
Top mount shades need the release tab to point toward the front of the cassette and face mount shades need to have the release tab pointed downwards for proper installation.
NOTE: Brackets must be installed level in order for the cassette to install properly. Brackets install in the center of the cassette and must be positioned 1 5/8” from the back of the cassette for installation.
STEP 2: INSTALL SHADE
Position the shade on the brackets as shown below for top mount or face mount.
Once in position, push the tab of the installation bracket and tilt the cassette into the bracket. You will hear a click once the back of the cassette and tab of the bracket are engaged.
Once shade is installed, remove protective plastic film from the face of the cassette.
If your shade requires removal after installation, push the bracket tab to release the bracket.

OPEN ROLL (CRANK)
STEP 1: INSTALL BRACKETS
Brackets for open roll outdoor shades can be installed to the ceiling or underside of the window frame (top mount) or to the wall (face mount).
Determine the desired location for the brackets, then mark the position of the brackets ensuring they are the correct distance apart, level, and are in line with each other.
When installing the crank bracket, we recommend using an extension bit. When installing the control side bracket, the screws will install at a slight angle. If possible, remove the crank mechanism from the bracket, install the bracket, and reattach the crank mechanism.
NOTE: Brackets must be installed level in order for the shade to install properly.
NOTE: The control side bracket can be adjusted for face mount or top mount. To change the mount position, simply unscrew the crank mechanism on the control side bracket and reposition in the alternate mounting position.
STEP 2: INSTALL SHADE
Insert the control side of the shade into the control end bracket. Ensure the lug on the bracket fits into the slot.
Then, maneuver the pin on the idle end of the shade into the groove of the idle end bracket. When the pin end snaps into the bracket, the shade is securely installed.
If your shade requires removal after installation, use a flat head screwdriver to hold the tab of the idle end back and maneuver the idle end out of the bracket.

HOLD DOWNS
STEP 1: INSTALL ANCHOR
Hold down anchors can be installed in floor or wall mount applications. Install anchors at the desired position.
