Frequently Asked ABS Drapery Question:
QUESTION:
Is there a difference between the construction of the drapery panel when ordered with a 3 1/2" return vs. a 6 1/2" return?
EXPLANATION:
When ordering Pinch Pleat drapery, the system will ask for a return side. If the customer is doing 3 1/2" returns, then the return side will not make a difference in the construction of the panel because all panels come with a default of 3 1/2" returns on both sides (pins on both ends). But when ordering with 6 1/2" returns, the return side will matter and will change the construction of the panel, making one side of the panel have a 6 1/2" distance between the return pin (end of the panel) and the last pin for hanging the panel. With the 6 1/2" return, there is a 3 1/2" leading edge.
PROPOSED RESPONSE:
When ordering pinch pleat drapery, 3 1/2" is the default return size, and will be the same on both ends of the drapery panel. If the drapery is ordered with 6 1/2" returns, the return side (specified when ordering) will have a deeper return than the stationary end of the panel. This is often meant to hide deeper hardware than a 3 1/2" return would.
