Black Stitch Marks Around Header Pleats - FAQ - ABS Drapery

Modified on Thu, 9 Apr at 11:05 AM

Frequently Asked ABS Drapery Question:

QUESTION:

I ordered light colored pinch pleat drapery with room darkening liner. Why are there black stitch marks all around the header pleats?

EXPLANATION:

The BO liner is made in layers: liner material, black blackout fabric, coating side; the black stitch is coming from the black blackout fabric.

The factory has tried to use a thinner needle to reduce the appearance of the black threads, however the thinner needle is not able to work because the drapery panels with BO liner are too thick. The thinner needle will break.

We suggest remaking this order in a darker drapery fabric. If unable to select a darker fabric,

PROPOSED RESPONSE:

The black stitch marks are unavoidable due to the black out liner material, the customer can either choose a darker colored fabric, or we can offer to remake the drapery with a light filtering filtering liner.
