Black Stitch Marks Around Header Pleats - FAQ - ABS Drapery

Modified on Fri, 10 Jul at 4:35 PM

Frequently Asked ABS Drapery Question:

QUESTION:

I ordered light colored pinch pleat drapery with room darkening liner. Why are there black stitch marks all around the header pleats?

EXPLANATION:

The BO liner is made in layers: liner material, black blackout fabric, coating side; the black stitch is coming from the black blackout fabric.

The factory has started using a new machine for these stitches to make them less noticeable, as well as a white BO coating on drapery liners, to reduce the visibility of these stitch marks. See more info about this new stitching machine here.

We suggest remaking this order, and confirming that a white BO coating will be used.

PROPOSED RESPONSE:

The factory has improved their sewing methods and the black stitching is no longer visible on drapery panels.
