Fabric Snagging/Pulling on FRS Valances and Shades- FAQ- ABS FRS

Frequently Asked Fabric Roman Shade Question:

Why is my Fabric Roman Shade snagging/pulling down the length of the shade? (image below)
What: The fabric of a Fabric Roman Shade is snagging and pulling on the valances and shades.

Why: This can happen when the installer screws upwards through the solid part of the headrail instead of drilling through the slot in the headrail where the fabric is already cut, pulling the fabric from the top.

How to Avoid: Locate the installation slots in the headrail.  Holding the shade in its installation position, use the installation screws and washers provided to screw through the slots in the headrail directly into the mounting surface to hold the shade in place. Adding a washer will increase the surface area for the screw so it doesn't push through the slot.  Be sure to install using the pre-drilled installation slot. The fabric is prepared in the slot area so snags will not occur.

NOTE: If you top mount your shade directly through the head rail and do not use the pre-drilled
installation slots, any resulting fabric damage is not covered under warranty and the shade will
need to be reordered at your expense. (Oops Discount)

NOTE: Customer may call in and state that their fabric roman shade was seamed. If this is a Budget Blinds customer, their fabric roman shades are not seamed (max width 106"), and it is more likely that the installer drilled through the headrail (see FD 247244 for example).
