NRS Noise During Operation - YX NRS - FAQ

Frequently Asked Natural Roller Shade Questions:

QUESTION:

My shade makes a crunching sound when operated.

EXPLANATION:

Previously, the production standard was to add 9" of additional fabric to the roll. However, this amount of extra fabric, combined with the fabric not being pressed thin enough during production, could cause a crunching noise during operation. This issue may occur across all top treatment types, including open roll, traditional, and cassette. As of 2/26/26, the updated production standard is to add 7" or less of additional fabric to the roll to help prevent this issue.

If a customer is experiencing this issue, it will require a remake.

The factory will try their best to detect the issue prior to shipping the order. However, due to environmental limitations at the facility, it can be difficult to identify this issue on site. The factory is currently discussing improved methods to detect the problem during production rather than relying on the customer to report it. If the issue is identified, the factory should address it during production and ensure the proper steps are taken to resolve it before shipment.

To know if the issue you are work on is the same, please refer to the video in FD 266176

PROPOSED RESPONSE:

The noise you are hearing is due to a production defect. This is caused by excess fabric being added to the roll, along with the fabric not being thoroughly pressed flat during production. As a result, the shade will need to be remade.
