Smart Home Collection Motor Programming

This guide contains programming instructions for the Budget Blinds SHC motors.  These instructions work for both the Push 15 and the Paradigm remotes.

Pairing/Unpairing –

Press and hold the P1 (setting) button for 2 seconds until the shade jogs once then let go.  There is a long beep.  Within 4 seconds of the beep, press and hold the STOP button for 3 seconds. The shade should jog twice and beep 3 times.

If the shade does not pair

• Check that the antenna is visible and not damaged.   
• How far away are they from the shade?
• Are they waiting until after the beep to press the STOP button?
• Are they holding the STOP button for 2-3 seconds?
• Is the motor charged?
• Has the plastic tab been completely removed from under the battery?

Setting Limits – 

FOR THE UPPER LIMIT –

Once the shade is where you want it, press and hold the UP and STOP buttons together at the same time for 5 seconds until the shade jogs twice and beeps 3 times.

FOR THE LOWER LIMIT – 

Once the shade is where you want it, press and hold the DOWN and STOP buttons together at the same time for 5 seconds until the shade jogs twice and beeps 3 times.

If the limits will not set:

• Is the remote locked?
  1. Press the lock ( ) button on the back of the remote.
     • If the remote is locked, a “U” will appear
     • If the remote is unlocked, an “L” will appear
       • To unlock, press the lock () button again
• Is the shade fully charged?
• Are they pressing the UP/STOP or DOWN/STOP buttons at the same time?
• Is the antenna visible and not damaged?

Factory Reset – 

Sometimes the best thing to do is to Factory Reset the motor.  This not only unpairs the motor from the remote, but it also wipes the limits.

To factory reset the motor, press and hold the P1 button for 14 seconds.  You should see 4 jogs and hear 4 beeps at the end.

• The 1^st jog is after 2 seconds
• The 2^nd jog is at 6 seconds
• The 3^rd jog is at 10 seconds
• The 4^th jog is at 14 seconds

CHECKING THE DIRECTION OF THE MOTOR 

After a Factory Reset and repairing, please check the motor’s direction by pressing either the UP or Down.

If the shade is going in the wrong direction, press and hold the UP and DOWN buttons at the same time for 5 seconds until the shade jogs one time.

The shade should move in the correct direction, now.

Setting A Favorite Position

To set a Favorite Position, both the Upper and Lower Limits must be set.

Move the shade to the desired position using the UP and DOWN buttons.  Press the P2 button on the back of the remote.  The shade will jog and beep. Then press the STOP and the shade will jog and beep once. Press the STOP again and the shade will jog and beep twice.

To change the Favorite Position, repeat the same process.

Hiding/Unhiding Channels  

Hold both the channel up (+) and channel down (-) buttons together for 5 seconds until the screen shows “15”. Scroll through the channels until you reach the highest channel you want visible (ex. If you want channel 6 to be the highest visible channel, scroll to 6).  Press and hold the STOP button for 2 seconds until an “o” appears on the screen.

To unhide the channels, repeat the same process.  The highest channel to be visible will be 15 if you would like all the channels visible.

Group Channels

With this remote, there are channels 1-15 but, there are also channels A-E.   These lettered channels are specifically for groups of shades.  You can program any shades from channels 1-15 to the lettered channels for custom groups.

Cycle through the channels until you reach the letters.  Choose which letter channel you would like your group on. 

Press and hold the (-) and STOP buttons together for 4 seconds until a “G” appears.   Select a letter to use as a group channel.  Channel 1 will be displayed.  Using ONLY the (+) button cycle to the shade you want to add to this group and press (-) to select it. Repeat this process until you have all the shades you want in the group.  Press the STOP button to confirm the change and an (o) will show on the screen for 4 seconds.  The remote will then revert to normal mode and the group channel will be ready for use.

Changing the Motor Speed

You can change the speed of the motor a little bit.

• To Increase the Speed
  1. Locate the P2 button on the back of the remote.
  2. Press the P2 button and the shade will jog once and beep once.
  3. Press UP and the shade will jog once and beep once
  4. Press Up again and the shade will jog twice
  5. If the 3rd function does not occur, the motor is already going at the fastest speed.
• To Decrease the Speed
  1. Remove the battery cover from the back of the remote and locate the P2 button to the upper left of the battery.
  2. Press the P2 button and the shade will jog once and beep once.
  3. Press DOWN and the shade will jog once and beep once
  4. Press DOWN again and the shade will jog twice
  5. If the 3rd function does not occur, the motor is already going at the slowest speed.

Battery Check

You can check the status of the motor’s battery even if you are not using the hub.

• Send the shade or shades to the Upper Limit
• Press & hold UP for about 5 seconds
• Shade will move to a position indicating the power level of the battery
  1. The more fabric you see, the higher the battery level
  2. Shade all the way down is 100%
