Frequently Asked Drapery Question:
QUESTION:
I ordered light colored pinch pleat drapery with room darkening liner. Why are there black stitch marks all around the header pleats?
EXPLANATION:
The BO liner is made in layers: liner material, black blackout fabric, coating side; the black stitch is coming from the black blackout fabric. During the sewing process, the black threads are pulled through the face fabric leaving behind black thread stitches.
Customers can either remake with a darker face fabric to help conceal the dark stitches, or remake with a light filtering liner which will not result in black stitching.
The product team is currently working with the factory on how to improve this, no resolution as this time.
