Lined Valance Changes to Inspired Products

Go into effect: August 26, 2025

We are improving the specification for lined valances. Lined valances are intended to block the outline of the components from showing through to the front of the valance when light is coming through.

Previously, unlined shades defaulted to using Light-Filtering White for all lined valances, and light-filtering lined shades used matching light-filtering liners on the valance. We have found that when valances use light-filtering liners, the outline of the components is often still visible through the front of the valance.

Our new standard specification is to use color matched room-darkening liners on all valances to fully block the view of the components. Unlined shades will have room-darkening liners on all valances matched to the shade fabric color. Light-filtering shades will have room-darkening lined valances matched to the light-filtering liner color.

You may also change your lined valance color when placing orders.

Room-Darkening lined shades will continue to use the matching room-darkening liner color for the lined valance.

This change currently applies to Budget Woven Wood products only - so in this case Inspired Shades Natural Shades.
This change will eventually apply for all woven wood collections for all customers.

Because our factories do not all have the same liners as each other (ie. SLN and SB do not have a blackout black like YX), or exact matches for light-filtering liners (LF Gray does not have BO Gray), look below for what the lined valance color would most likely default to. It is also important to keep in mind that not every liner is offered for each collection.

If you are ever unsure and want to double check, do a test within PIC. Just select the color and the liner selection type requested by the customer (ie. No Liner, LF White, LF Black, LF Gray etc.) to see what the lined valance defaults to.
