Why should I use a bonded liner (ILU8 FRS Only)?
Explanation:
Liners play a key role in controlling light and privacy. Liner options include unlined, standard light-filtering, bonded light-filtering, standard black-out, and bonded black-out. Available for Illumin8 fabric roman shades only.
Bonded Liners: are an upgraded option for both light-filtering and black-out styles. The bonded liners have a standard liner and soft lining attached to each other, acting as a single liner. Due to the double lining, bonded liners add body and structure to the shade, along with some thermal benefits. Bonded liners are not available with sheer fabrics.
When you would use:
You would want to choose a bonded liner over a standard liner when you have selected a non-sheer fabric, and you are looking for an upgraded liner option. The bonded liners have a soft backing and add body and structure to the shade, while reducing the amount of light that enters the room. It also has some thermal benefits as the extra layer of fabric acts as an additional barrier, trapping air and helping regulate the room's temperature.
The soft part of the lining is facing the face of the shade. It will not face the window, as there could be condensation.
There is no specification of how much energy you will save, no tax form qualifications etc. We do not have R values for the bonded liners.
