Creased Black Out Roller Shade - RS FAQ

Modified on Thu, 25 Sep at 2:37 PM

Customer received a black out roller shade with creases, can this be fixed on site?

Answer:

In most cases yes, a black out roller shade can be steamed to remove the creases.

Lower the shade fully to expose all creases, use a fabric steamer and hold it 2" - 3" away from shade material, do not hold the steamer in one place too long as this may dampen the shade too much which may leave water marks, or cause other material issues. Allow shade to hang for roughly 1 hour after steaming.

For more stubborn creases, the customer should steam the creases then carefully use both hands to smooth the shade material. (with clean hands, place one hand on the front of the shade, and place other hand against the other hand with the shade material between both palms, very gently press hands together and smooth material)

If the customer is unable or unwilling to steam, a remake may be placed.
