A customer has a roller shade with 2 shades in one cassette. There is a squeaking noise coming from the middle of the shade. What is it most likely to be?
Answer: It is most likely that the two plastic idle ends are hitting each other – plastic on plastic. This has been fixed. The factory now inserts a screw through the top of the cassette between the two brackets to keep them separated enough that the idle ends won't touch. Seen in orders through Sept 24, 2022 through 2023. For new orders, this should not be an issue due to new idle ends.
To test if this is the cause of the noise, they can slide a business card in between the two brackets. If the squeak goes away, the brackets were the issue
