Frequently Asked Outdoor Shade Questions:
What is a gear ratio? A gear ratio is calculated by the number of crank turns to rotate the window shade tube once.
Our gear ratio is 5:1, which means that 5 crank turns will rotate the tube once.
For the outdoor shade, 5 rotations of the crank will move the fabric 6". It would take 65 to 70 cranks to raise/lower a shade 80" tall.
If there is more fabric on the tube, the quicker the fabric will move.
