QUESTION: A customer would like to change their Cordless shade to a Motorized Shade.
EXPLANATION: Due to the differences in tube profiles, a Cordless Shade cannot be converted to a Motorized Shade, and a Motorized Shade cannot be converted to a Cordless Shade.
The tube used in a Cordless Shade does not contain the grooves required for the motor's collar and adaptor to engage with the tube. Without the grooves, the motor is unable to properly operate the shade.
PROPOSED RESPONSE: Due to the difference in the tube profiles, a Cordless shade cannot be converted into a Motorized Shade and vice versa. It is advised to submit an oops remake to change the control type.
Internal FYI: Please note that some customers may attempt to convert a Cordless Shade into a Motorized Shade. However, any modification or alteration of the shade from its original manufactured configuration will void the product warranty.
