Frequently Asked Motorization Question
I just installed the new USB-C motorized shades and the LED only flashes a couple of times when the charger is plugged in. It continues to flash when I use a 2 amp charger. Does the motor or charger need to be replaced?
Answer: First of all, the motors are charging, and charging better than the older version. It was found that the chips in the motors were programmed so they read the regular charger like a solar charger. Since solar chargers send a trickle charge to the motor, the LED does not flash constantly as this would be annoying. The engineers are reworking the chips and changing the Firmware so the motors will read the chargers as a charger. In the meantime, there is a procedure to check if the charger is working. Please follow the steps here:
- Plug in the charger.
- Move the shade and stop it anywhere.
- When it stops moving, the LED will flash
- Flashing RED means the motor is charging.
- Flashing GREEN means the motor is fully charged.
