QUESTION:

How does the tape placement with Illumin8 (ILU8) Fabric Roman Shades work? Can my selected tape be done in perimeter style?

EXPLANATION:

The Illumin8 tapes are available in a variety of designs and patterns. Because each pattern is unique, not all tape styles are compatible with every placement option. Some tapes cannot be used in perimeter placements because the pattern does not align properly around the edges of the shade, resulting in an inconsistent or undesirable appearance. See the example below to illustrate why certain tape styles are limited to specific placement options.

We are not accepting out of spec requests for these tape placements at the moment.

Mitered Corners:
When it comes to mitered corners, if a tape can’t come together in a clean mitered corner, it will only be available for Parallel or Bottom Only placements only.
If a tape can make a clean mitered corner, it will remain available for Parallel, Bottom only, and Perimeter style. All tapes with perimeter placement style will be mitered at the bottom corners.

Thank you for your question! Our Fabric Roman tapes are available in a variety of unique patterns and designs. To ensure your shade has the best possible finished appearance, some tape styles are only offered with specific placement options. Certain tape patterns cannot be used with perimeter placement because the design would not align correctly around the edges of the shade. For this reason, perimeter placement is not available for those tape styles.
