Shade Tube Bending, Forming 'X' or 'V' on Shade- FAQ- ABS RS

Modified on Thu, 29 May at 4:23 PM

Frequently Asked Roller Shade Question:

My roller shade has been installed, but it is beginning to sag towards the middle. Why?
Answer: When a roller shade begins to form an 'X' or a 'V' on the shade, it is possible that the tube bent in the middle (commonly called 'deflection'). It pulls the center of the tube downward and created a 'V' shaped ripple in the center of the fabric.

This is most common in wide shades, with heavy fabrics

This can apply to any Roller shade, including Natural Rollers

If it is not open roll: it is possible that there were not enough brackets used during install. If the middle of the shade is not supported and the fabric is heavy, it can begin to bend.

Typically a remake, as you cannot add more brackets to open roll. Factory can try to QC the shade prior to shipping remake and gauge how much of a V there will be. If the customer is open to it, perhaps remake with a less heavy fabric.
