Frequently Asked Roller Shade Questions:

The Exact Lift Pro cordless system is currently only available in the

Inspired Shades Roller Shades Collection

1.Q: What is the Exact Lift Pro cordless system, and how is it different than the other cordless systems?

A: There are three different cordless systems available in the IS RS collection, below is an quick explanation of each system (for more information refer to the product guide):

Easy Lift: spring assisted cordless system designed for simple operation. The shade automatically rises once the internal spring is release by gently pulling the tassel or the bottom bar down. (Tug and release)

  • Not ideal for side by side installations.
  • Can be ordered open roll with raceway bar, or with top treatment

Exact Lift: controlled cordless system that allows precise positioning and exact alignment. The shade raises and lowers smoothly and stays exactly where placed.

  • Ideal for side by side installations.
  • Can be ordered open roll with raceway bar, or with top treatment

Exact Lift Pro: enhanced cordless solution featuring fine-tuned tension control that allows precise positioning and exact alignment. Correct installation is very important to ensure the shade tension is not lost. If it is, tension can be added on by the tension dial.

  • Ideal for side by side installations.
  • Open Roll Only! No Raceway Bar.

2. Q: Why would a customer want to order an Exact Lift Pro?

A. A customer would order an Exact Lift Pro system when they want an open roll cordless roller shade without a raceway bar.

  • Please refer to the product guide for specifications and deductions.

3. Q: How does an Exact Lift Pro lose tension?

A: There are only a few ways that an Exact Lift Pro can lose tension:

  1. Most common: Improper Installation - removing the Spring Lock before installation.
  2. If the shade is removed from the brackets, and the control side plunger is engaged (pushed in)
  3. Freight damage.
  4. Overuse of the tension dial.
    • If the tension dial is used too many times, the dial may need to be replaced due to wear and tear.

4. Q: How do you add tension back onto the spring?

A: Tension is added back onto the spring by using the Tension Dial. The number of turns depends on the size of the shade, it takes a lot of turns, but the tension will be added back on eventually!

5. Q: How will I know when the tension is back on the spring?

A: If the shade is lowered while turning the tension dial, the shade will start to creep up once tension is almost fully added! We recommend testing the shade every so often, if the shade creeps down, add more tension, if the shade creeps up, remove some tension.

6. Q: What are the first steps to troubleshooting?

A: Steps listed below:

  1. Check that the Tension Dial is not broken or detached from the bracket - If the tension dial is not broken or detached move to step 2.
    • Broken: send replacement parts (tension dial is attached to brackets in the warehouse stock)
    • Detached: follow instructions here
  2. Turn the Tension Dial to add tension back onto the spring.
    • If tension is not changing, send replacement bracket.
  3. If all steps fail, remake can be placed.

7. Q: When is a remake required for Exact Lift Pro shades?

A: Remakes are needed if there are issues with the shade other than tension like, fabric damage, freight damage, incorrect deductions, etc. Or when the shades tension works when lowering, but not raising the shade.

Remakes due to tension should be resolved by replacement parts, or adjusting the tension dial.

8. Q: How is the Exact Lift Pro packaged at the factory?

A: The Exact Lift Pro is packaged the same as the other cordless open roll shades, the only difference is that the factory includes an additional set of the Installation Instructions on a hang tag that is attached to the Spring Lock in hopes that the customer reads the instructions before removing the Spring Lock.

The instructions include a QR code that will direct them to the Installation and Troubleshooting YouTube video!

The video is only accessible through the QR code, or via link. It is not public on the Inspired Shades YouTube Channel.

Hang Tag image is attached in the PDF below.
