Frequently Asked Woven Wood Question:

Below information does not apply to the 1.5" motorized headrail system.

QUESTION:

My motorized woven wood shade is uneven, how can I fix it?

EXPLANATION:

Woven wood shades raising uneven can be caused by several different factors.

The 3 most common reasons are:

  1. Lift cords are wrapping unevenly on the spool
  2. Lift cords are caught on something, or tangled
  3. Lift cord is snapped

If photos can be requested, please ask the customer to take a photo of the headrail tube/spools to show the lift cords.

PROPOSED RESPONSE:

Uneven motorican be caused by several different factors.

The 3 most common reasons are:

  1. Lift cords are wrapping unevenly on the spool
    • Check all lift cords are wrapping smoothly in one layer on the spool and the eyelet is still secured to the headrail, the cord should not be overlapping itself on the tube.
    • The cords should not be wrapping on the metal tube
    • Lift cords need to wrap the same direction on the spool, if troubleshooting has already been attempted, please check that the installer or customer wrapped and secured the cords the same direction as the other lift cords.
  2. Lift cords are caught on something, or tangled
    • Check all lift cords are moving freely on the back of the shade. The lift cords should not be tangled or caught on the rings, or the cord shroud (ladder cord)
    • If any of the cords are caught or tangled, please gently untangle and operate the shade fully to test if the issue has been resolved
  3. Lift cord is snapped or broken
    • Check all lift cords are moving freely on the back of the shade, they should all be attached from the top of the headrail spool to the bottom ring.

Below are images of the reasons listed above:

CORRECT: Eyelet is fully secured to the headrail and the spool is aligned with the eyelet.

INCORRECT: Eyelet is not secured to the headrail and the spool is not aligned with the eyelet.
