QUESTION:

Can I order a mitered headrail? If so, how do I order it?

EXPLANATION: 

A mitered headrail is 2 or more headrails/shades that need to fit a corner or a bay window. Mitering means the factory will cut the headrail at an angle, typically 45 degrees, though it can be custom-made. 

The request will need to be submitted to Operations. Please gather the following information to ensure Operations has everything needed to complete the request:

1. Please provide a photo of the installation or the window itself. If neither is available, please share a diagram of the window and shade placement.

2. How will the product be installed?

   • Inside Mount

   • Outside Mount

3. Please provide all shade specifications, including:

   • Control Type

   • Fabric

   • Shade Dimensions (Width x Height)

   • Miter side of the headrail (please reference the example below)

4. Angle (45 degrees will be standard; if anything else is requested, it will need to be approved)
   
   

With the information provided, operations will then approve the request and provide any additional information they may need.

The request can be quoted either by Operations or by the customer, depending on the circumstances of the request. At this time, there is no additional cost associated with this option. However, as these requests become more frequent, additional charges may be evaluated and implemented in the future. Warranty coverage will be reviewed and determined on a case-by-case basis, depending on the nature of the request and the circumstances involved.

Once the request has been approved, Operations will document the required specifications in the General Comments section and ensure the factory is properly notified of the approved requirements. Upon completion, the factory will typically provide photos of the finished product for verification purposes.

In the example below:

• Headrail A was ordered with a 45-degree cut on the right side of the headrail. 
• Headrail B was ordered with a 45-degree cut on the left side of the headrail
