Frequently Asked Woven Wood Question:
QUESTION:
The top rail of my TDBU shade is raw wood and is exposed.
EXPLANATION:
The exposed wood on the top rail is considered standard construction for this shade and is intended to remain visible. Effective 10/1/25, YX began finishing the exposed raw wood edges of the top rail with the recommended color for Woven Woods.
The recommended headrail color can be found in Airtable. If the exposed wood has not been finished with the recommended component color, a remake should be issued.
When edge binding IS selected, the top rail's painted edge color will match the edge binding color. There are six painted edge color options available (see attached).
- When edge binding IS NOT selected, the top rail painted edges will match the headrail color. Airtable has been updated to reflect the corresponding headrail colors
YX - See below for how it will appear on Airtable.

Recommended headrail side colors

PROPOSED RESPONSE:
The exposed wood on the top rail is standard construction and is intended to remain visible. However, the exposed wood should be finished with the recommended color provided by the factory. This color should match the selected edge binding when applicable or the shade fabric if edge binding was not selected.
Since the exposed wood was not finished with the recommended component color, we will need to move forward with processing a remake.
