Wavy- MMK DSS- FAQ

Frequently Asked Dual Sheer Question:

A customer has a dual sheer shade, and the fabric is wavy. What is the first thing you should have them do?

Answer:

1. Ask the number of brackets being used. Did they use them all and install the shade level?

2. Ask if the installation is level and plumb

3. Ask if the shade is too wide for the inside mount opening.

4. Ask if the panels are aligned

5. Ask if they have treated for static

They can use a dryer sheet or static guard spray

6. If none of the above, resolve the issue with a no charge remake at the same exact specifications. If dimensions need changed, it must be an OOPS remake.

My customer’s CCL shade is wavy and the bands are not closed at the ordered height.   What could be wrong?  Answer: Overwound

Winter Static on Dual Sheer Shades

Dry weather and heavy furnace use can really affect Dual Sheer Shade fabric, causing static that makes the fabric behave strangely, even if it was perfectly fine for a long time. Ripples, curling, shadows, etc can form when static affects the shade fabric.

Before automatically turning to a remake, ask the customer if they have treated the shade(s) for static.  Static Guard is a great product, but there are others that work fine.  Spray all over the face of the fabric, but also separate the panels and spray in between to "break" the static cling.

If the customer is using something with a trigger spray (rather than an aerosol spray) like Downy Release, remind them to step back and not get any droplets on the fabric.

It's not an instant result.  It can take several minutes for the treatment to work it's magic.  Bounce dryer sheets do work, but not as well.
