Frequently Asked Natural Shade Questions:
Why is my woven wood shade loose? There are gaps in between the bamboo which are very noticeable when light shines through.
Problem: The problem is the tension in the weave. When the vertical threads aren't tight enough, the pattern will have slits like this. If the weave is tighter, these gaps should go away.
Tends to be more of a problem with big/heavy shades.
If you have a smaller shade next to a larger shade, the smaller shade might not have these same issues as it weighs less. The weave gaps can depend on the angle it is being looked at, the time of day, and size of shade.
Solution: For the customer, we advise remaking the shade and suggest that they add a liner which will diffuse the light coming through, or select a different fabric. When this happens, tell the factory that the weave is too loose, and they will be able to reweave the next batch.
